ABOUT

ScottMetz is built on decades of surf culture, raw creativity, and a relentless drive to break the mold. Growing up in Dana Point and surfing Salt Creek, the art of surfboards was always close—watching legends transform blank canvases into statement pieces fueled an obsession to create.

In grade school, it started with endless sketching, trying to replicate the bold styles of surfboard artists like Drew Brophy, Sean Spoto, and Chad Carothers, who turned boards into works of art. That passion only grew, fueled by exposure to the raw, unfiltered energy of graffiti and underground art scenes.

The first big opportunity came at the Lost surfboard factory and San Clemente Surf Co., where Jimmy Nudo opened the door to painting surfboards for friends, customers, and shop boards. It was the perfect blend of art and business, teaching the skills needed to create and the hustle it takes to succeed.

Four years later, ScottMetz leveled up, joining T.Patterson Surfboards and working with Timmy Patterson—a builder with a legacy of crafting boards for the best surfers in the world. Painting for these elite athletes was an honor and a challenge, pushing creativity while gaining insight into running a global surfboard manufacturing business. From managing an online store to coordinating with sales reps and distributors worldwide, it was a crash course in turning art into enterprise.

Now, ScottMetz is launching something new. It’s not just a brand; it’s an attitude—a collision of surfboard art, action sports, and punk rebellion. Every design is a reminder to stand out, stay bold, and never blend in.

This is ScottMetz. Born in the surf. Raised in the factory. Built to disrupt.
